This game depicts thirty real, living nations whose homelands the expedition crosses. Their cultures are not props: every depiction here was researched against the sources below, written with care, and offered with humility — we are outsiders to these histories, and errors are ours alone.
Place-names in this game are the player's own inventions, made for play. The rivers, falls, and mountains of the West carried — and carry — names given by the peoples who have lived with them for thousands of years; a few well-attested ones appear alongside your discoveries.
